Wahl and Kazimov did not qualify for the free dance at the European Championships.
Spanish duo Sofia Val and Asaf Kazimov did not qualify for the free dance at the European Championships.
Val and Kazimov took 23rd place in the rhythm dance at the European Championships in Kaunas with 58.04 points. The skaters did not qualify for the free dance.
Earlier, the Spanish Figure Skating Federation selected Val and Kazimov to participate in the World and European Championships, despite the fact that the duo lost to Olivia Smart and Tim Dick at the national championships.
The reason was the selection criteria, according to which the best technical score – the sum of elements (TES) for three tournaments in the season was taken into account. Thus, Wahl and Kazimov scored a total of 304.62 in TES, while Smart and Dick scored 300.17.
Later, the federation revised its decision and included Smart and Dick in the national team for the World Championships.
