Ilia Malinin: “I won’t reveal what exactly happened to my health, but at some point I even doubted that I would be able to come to the World Championships.”
An American figure skater was third in the short program at the World Figure Skating Championships 2024. First place went to Shoma Uno and second to Yuma Kagiyama.
“I’m feeling great. The last couple weeks have been tough for me and I’m happy to just be here and perform well under pressure.
I haven’t been feeling great lately, I’ve been sick, I’ve had a lot of injuries. So I’m happy to come here and do well.
I won’t reveal what exactly happened to my health, but at some point I even doubted that I would be able to come to the World Championships. The form was not the best. But now I’m happy just to perform on this ice.
Sometimes I had to skip training. But I decided that I will still go and try to give my best.”, – said Malinin.

Probably ILIA MALININ chipped a finger nail or fell of his bicycle when he was 7 years old and got a scratch. so he has a bad skate he can blame it on one of the serous injuries
