Jason Brown spoke about ending his career

“I know I go out skating for the public. Yes, I am always very nervous, although I try not to show it.

The season was not easy, back in the fall at the tournament in Warsaw, I realized that it would not be possible to skate on the old reserves, we need to seriously regroup and prepare in a different way. I was not ready, to put it bluntly. A serious conversation with my coaches helped me a lot.

I decided to take a break – just like that, right in the middle of the season, in November. I did a lot of thinking. I thought about ending my career more than once or twice. At some point I thought I couldn’t handle it, that I had taken on too much and I couldn’t do it anymore.

But I had a lot of help – from my family, my coaches and our federation. Everyone was willing to be there for me and support me when I needed it. I went to Tracy Wilson and my psychologist so many times saying that’s it, I can’t do it anymore. Thank you to them for giving me a shoulder to lean on back then.

So I continue on my way without looking back at anyone. I have my own road, my own story – yes, sometimes it’s not easy, but with a support team like mine, nothing is scary,” Jason Brown said
