Adelia Petrosyan has become more difficult to perform jumps and she will not learn new quadruples

“It’s getting harder to jump, sometimes you don’t have enough stamina. It’s not so much to do with changes in the body, but with some processes inside. I can perfectly jump the first part of the training, do a lot, and then suddenly feel a strong heaviness in my legs, in my whole body and not find the strength to continue.

You seem to do everything the same as in previous years, but the sensations on the ice are different. It’s a normal process, everyone faces it as they get older, and I’m already looking forward to all the difficulties.

The most difficult for me was the jumping tournament, because everything had to be done at speed. These competitions took a lot of energy from me, it took me the longest time to recover from them, and to be honest, I wouldn’t want to repeat such an experience.”

According to the athlete, she will not try to insert new quadruple jumps into her programs, in particular quadruple lutz and salchow.

“Those jumps I don’t feel comfortable jumping. Salchow was not going well for me from the beginning, I had the most falls on it. In quadruple jumps in general, everything is very individual. Some people are better at rib jumps, others are better at jumps with teeth. So I’m going to focus on what I already know how to do,” the Moscow Skater magazine quoted Petrosyan as saying.
