On March 18 in Moscow there will be a figure skating show tournament.
The participants will present show pieces lasting from 2.5 to 3 minutes, created especially for the tournament, not shown and not announced before.
The organizers do not set requirements for the performance of mandatory technical elements and do not limit the choice of costumes and props for the participants.
Any current or former figure skaters born in 2007 and older, performing in any of the disciplines, are invited to participate in the competition. Olympic champions and world champions are allowed without preselection.
According to the results of preliminary consideration of applications, up to 20 skaters will be invited to participate. The list of participants will be announced on March 1.
The prize for the first place will be 5 million rubles, for the second – 3 million rubles and for the third – 1 million rubles.
Each invited participant will get a fee of Br250 thousand. These funds could be spent on the program, costumes, props and other expenses, related to participation in the tournament.

Athletic couple Alena Kostornaya – Georgy Kunitsa has no plans to take part in the tournament on show programs.

This was announced by Kostornaya.

“No, we do not plan to apply for the tournament. Now we are busy staging new programs, rolling elements,” said the skater.

World Championship 2015 bronze medalist Elena Radionova said she plans to take part in the show programs tournament.

“I will apply, I’m really looking forward to this event, because it will give me the opportunity to dive back into my favorite atmosphere, to touch the emotions of competition, because this is life, with which I had a lot of connections.

For me and those skaters who have also finished their skating careers, it is a great opportunity to perform.

It is great news that they decided to hold a show program tournament after all. We will have such competitions for the first time, and it’s always interesting,” Radionova said.

Tatiana Tarasova, honored coach of the USSR, shared her opinion about the upcoming show programs tournament.

“There hasn’t been such an experience yet, I think it will be very interesting. It gives both former athletes and today’s professionals a chance to participate.

The competitions will change over time, and it will be interesting to watch, too,” Tarasova said.
