José Luis Terreros, the director general of the Spanish Anti-Doping Agency, has been fired from the post he has held since March 2017. His place will be taken by Spain’s former health minister, Silvia Calzon.

Last December, Relevo portal reported that between 2017 and 2022, the Spanish anti-doping agency used various methods to avoid disciplinary proceedings against Spanish athletes after positive doping tests.

In response, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has expressed the possibility of revoking the Spanish Anti-Doping Agency’s compliance status. The Public Prosecutor’s Office is currently investigating the case.
