Mao Shimada performed a triple axel and quadruple tulup in the free program at the Junior Grand Prix Final
The Junior Grand Prix Final ended with the performance of figure skaters in free skating programs.
Yoo Seong Kim from Korea successfully performed a triple axel in her performance, while Japan’s Ami Nakai also attempted this jump but fell.
Another Japanese competitor, Mao Shimada, demonstrated a triple axel and a quadruple tulup.
After the competition, Mao Shimada shared her impressions of winning the Junior Grand Prix Final.
“I am very happy that I was able to win for the second time in a row at the Junior Grand Prix Final. I decided to give my best today and that was the most important thing for me. My performance yesterday wasn’t the best, and neither was my morning practice today. But I decided to challenge myself, and I’m glad I did it. As for my fourth jump, I think it turned out pretty well,” commented Shimada.
