Ilia Malinin: “I came to the World Championships after an injury”
“Overall I’m very happy with my skating. I know I could have done much better. It was difficult to come here, I recently had injuries, and it was unclear whether I would be able to come to the championship. The final decision was made last week. I feel much better, the atmosphere of the event and the adrenaline definitely helps.
I didn’t get to see Yuma Kagiyama and Shoma Uno skate, but I heard their assessments and I’m pleased with them. We are all friends with each other and get along well,” Golden Skate quotes Malinin as saying.
Ilia Malinin took third place in the short program. The leader in the men’s competition is Japanese figure skater Shoma Uno. In second place is another representative of Japan, Yuma Kagiyama.
