Adam, who was considered one of the favorites of the competition, was only 19th in the short program. He received 77.49 points from the judges. The Frenchman made many blunders during the execution of the program, in particular fell from the quadruple tulup, thereby losing the cascade.
“It’s very difficult. I was ready, I’ve never been as well prepared as I am now. It’s hard to say what happened. It’s very disappointing. What happened is what happened, we have to move on. Morally I was ready, I believed in myself. I need to take a step back and think about it. The World Championships was the biggest competition of the season for me. In the free skating program I want to show what I am capable of,” the Frenchman said in the press zone.
