Figure social networks are trying to “cancel” the French duo Evgenia Lopareva/Joffrey Brissot for their allegedly frivolous attitude to the pandemic story.
The surprise with the choice of costume was spoiled – Evgenia and Joffre immediately came out in medical gowns, which embarrassed the fans. When the necessary audio file was played, the doubts were dispelled – the skaters will tell about COVID-19. In French there is a requirement to keep the distance, the athletes, in addition to robes, are wearing a mask and gloves, Lopareva has an antiseptic in her hands, with which she pours everything she sees around her. Eugenia and her partner put the drama in a joking way, showing how hard it was for the loved ones without each other during the period of restrictions. And then a minute later, the end of the pandemonium is announced, the music changes to the iconic Satisfaction track, and the dancers take off their robes. The second half of the number, by the way, turned out to be stylish. Bright black suits, glasses in tone, hi-fi style movements and original light play. Real music of the beginning of the noughties, as we imagine it.
The program is original and memorable, but not everyone agreed. Viewers on the Internet arranged a no-nonsense discussion that such a humorous tone in the case of the problem, still relevant on the planet, is unacceptable. “There’s a new wave of diseases going on right now. People are dying right in front of our eyes and for them to make a joke of it,” one fan wrote. “I had a coronavirus take my grandmother. Is that a reason to joke about social distance,” another fan replies to him.
What many agree on is that two to three years is still not enough time to approach the coronavirus issue with derision. Especially since the main problem of the pandemic was not so much the restrictions themselves (because of which sports suffered monstrously – remember the numerous canceled starts). It was the deaths of people for whom the encounter with the new virus was an insurmountable test and a blow to their health. This is hardly a reason to ban jokes in principle, but it is necessary to approach the issue more delicately.
