Adam Siao Him Fa: “I didn’t expect to win a medal at all.”

Adam Xiao Him Fa at the 2024 World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal (Canada), after a short program, was in 19th place. After the free program, Adam managed to rise to 3rd place and win the bronze medal.
“There were a lot of ups and downs in this competition, as well as a lot of emotions. I didn’t expect to win a medal at all. This gives me a lot of motivation for next season. The two-hour wait after the performance was very long, above all I was starving. I didn’t really think about the chance to win a medal, I just realized it when I saw Shoma Uno’s result.”
In the free skating program, the Frenchman did a banned element – a somersault – for which he received two penalty points from the judges. Without it, he could also have set his personal career record for points received in the free program.
“And yes, it occurred to me that maybe two points will make a difference in the end,” Xiao Him Fa said.
