WADA head on Valiyeva’s 4-year disqualification: ‘This is a victory for clean sport.
The head of WADA called the verdict in the case of Kamila Valieva a victory for clean sport.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) disqualified figure skater Kamila Valieva for 4 years for doping. The period of disqualification counts from December 25, 2021, the results of the athlete from this date are annulled.
This represents a win for WADA, for clean sport, and for athletes everywhere. Anyone who dopes children should be in prison. We encourage governments to consider criminalizing the supply of performance-enhancing drugs to minors.
