The mother of figure skater Elena Kostyleva told why she left Tutberidze.

– When Eteri Tutberidze kicked us out for the first time, I kept silent. I silently took my skates and left without scandals. The coach sent us the hell off the board – we agreed, left, and practiced the same night with Vadim Raevsky.

Lena was sick at the time. Then she came to the championship at the age of 8 with a triple lutz, fought with very strong girls – Gordeeva, Rubtsova, Titova, Dzepka.

She showed herself well. I remember we had very good relations with Arseny Fedotov’s dad at that time. He was also selected for the championship at the age of eight, but he had neither a lutz nor a flip yet. And Arseny’s dad said: “Your girl is even better than mine.”

But apparently the coaches didn’t like it very much, because they didn’t prepare her. While Lena was sick, she didn’t skate for ten days, she was on wobbly legs. Naturally, you can’t go to the championships in such a state.

As a result, Lena and her dad went skating additionally – not to the cold Kommunarka, but to a warm skating rink in Lefortovo. It was important for the girl to warm up on the ice after her illness. Well, and since there are a lot of coaches there, everything was immediately transferred.

We recovered, went out on the ice. I bought a beautiful present for Eteri Georgievna, it was her birthday soon…… In the end we didn’t give it back because we were kicked out.

Even before the choreography started, Sergey Rozanov (the coach) passed by us and looked at us so angrily – I understood everything at once. The training started, parents are sitting against the wall, pressed against each other. Because everyone is afraid of Eteri Georgievna, it’s true.

But she does everything right, you can’t give slack, otherwise people start to get cocky. She called Lena over to her and asked her something for about 20 minutes. Then she called me over and said: “You and I are on different planets. “You’re insolent, unprincipled people, get out of here.
