Philipp Schwetsky was working as a doctor for the Russian national team at the 2022 Beijing Olympics when it became known that figure skater Kamila Valiyeva had tested positive for doping.

After that, the ARD TV channel broadcast an interview where German journalist Hajo Seppelt commented on the situation and pointed to the possible involvement of Shvetsky.

In July 2023, the doctor filed a lawsuit in court to protect honor, dignity and business reputation. In November 2023, the Nikulinsky court of Moscow began to consider the claim on the merits.

“The court fully satisfied my claims on every point. It was enough for us to refute five speculations – on the TV channel and in the printed version, which spread around the world.

There were accusations of doping against me, coverage of me as a representative of the doping state system, also a possible repeat offender and guilty of the doping case with Kamila Valieva.

Taking into account my evidence, the court fully satisfied my demands and ordered Seppelt to refute his facts and to charge him 1 ruble in favor of me.

I want to say thank you to Hajo Seppelt for giving me the opportunity to understand personally the situation that I had 20 years ago, the situations in Sochi, Bratislava, Beijing.

I was able to understand myself and the situations. And understand how things really were,” RIA Novosti quoted Shvetsky as saying.
