The Appeals Committee of the French Ice Sports Federation did not sanction Brien Joubert
The Appeals Committee of the French Figure Skating Federation has refused to impose additional penalties on Brien Joubert.
The French figure skating coach, a 2007 world champion, was previously accused of violence.
Previously this coach, was accused of various violations including inappropriate behavior, being intoxicated in the workplace and making offensive remarks to his students. One former student, who remained anonymous, described the coach’s “insane anger and abusive attitude.”
The disciplinary committee of the French Ice Sports Federation proposed a one-year disqualification for Joubert with a two-year suspension, allowing him to continue his coaching activities. However, the prosecution appealed the decision. On January 29, the appeal committee of the French Ice Sports Federation decided not to impose additional sanctions against the coach.
