“When I hear about the doping of other athletes, like the Norwegian skiers and biathletes, I don’t understand why we discuss it so heatedly?

I especially don’t understand when they say that Valieva is being deliberately targeted for elimination. We need to wake up and realize that we have mistakes and blunders.

We should have learned to lie better about Valiyeva. Who will believe the story that she accidentally drank the wrong glass? What kind of nonsense is that?!

In Valiyeva’s case, it’s our own fault. We gave unfriendly countries a chance to point out our mistakes.

Now we just have to work to make it end sooner. Let’s work on ourselves, not look at someone else and say that they have doping too. Nothing good will come out of this approach.

We need to realize that there are countries that don’t like us, and they shouldn’t.

But you should always know that Russia is the country of the strongest athletes, and the attention to us will always be triple – every mistake will be remembered,” said three-time Olympic champion Irina Rodnina.
