Kaori Sakamoto assessed her short program at the Finnish Grand Prix.

The athlete goes first with a score of 69.69 points.

“Today, of course, not everything was possible – the plan was a 3-3 cascade, but this happens in training, so I was ready for it.

Points in the short program do not allow to make mistakes in the free skate. So I have to skate clean – there are no other options. Rion (Sumiyoshi) is too close.

My right foot has been bothering me a bit since August, I have to make sure I don’t lace my shoe too tight – otherwise it hurts. I have to pause during training, the years go by and my body is not what it used to be, it needs more attention and care.

Why did I choose to perform in Finland and not at home in Japan? I did it on purpose, I wanted to be able to recover properly before the Grand Prix final,” Sports.ru correspondent Maya Bagryantseva quoted Sakamoto as saying.
