Well, it seems to me that when ISU lowered the cost of this jump, it made everyone realize that it doesn’t need unique elements and doesn’t want skaters to take risks. Yes, of course, the quadruple axel is a stress for the body, but athletes are adults and approach it consciously, training their bodies. I know that many skaters were upset by this decision – because it is the high cost of the jump that motivates you to try something new,” Malinin said.
