Ilia Malini – I don’t write Russian as well as I speak
Ilia Malinin has told how well he speaks Russian.
About the language in which he and his family communicate at home:
Except that my sister has been refusing lately, she understands everything – but she doesn’t speak. Everyone – me, mom and dad – address her only in Russian, and she responds only in English. I guess it’s just her age.
Maybe it’s because I went to a Russian-speaking kindergarten. Lisa didn’t.
About which language is easier to write in:
– English. I can read Russian too, but it takes longer. Of course, I can get by without a Google translator, but I’ll get stuck a couple of times. So I guess I can’t say that I am fluent in Russian. I speak and understand, but reading and writing are much worse.
– said the world figure skating champion in an interview with Sports.ru.
