Chreographer Alexey Zheleznyakov, who recently worked in Eteri Tutberidze’s group, compared figure skater Margarita Bazyliuk with Alexandra Trusova.
– I liked the tournament. When you see that your ex-pupils are jumping things that no one else in the world has jumped, of course, you rejoice. These are still your children.
This idea is fresh and interesting. Moreover, in the absence of international competitions, we should organize such competitions a little more often for the whole country; they are shown on Channel One. Millions of people see this, it’s great. For teenagers and children, this is a certain motivation, which also gives them an impetus to work more on themselves in sports.
– Only time will tell. Margo is still quite, one might say, a child, and to compare with Alexandra… Firstly, she is completely different in physique, in physics. This is a dangerous sport, it is impossible to predict anything. But technically the girl is great. She is also very hardworking. Maybe it will be cooler than Trusova, or maybe life will take a turn in such a way that something will not work out.
– Was it the right idea to allow juniors to compete? And which of them impressed you?
– Why not? This is not a specific start, where there are strict regulations and age limits. More like a show, I guess. This is also interesting for the athletes themselves. Juniors and adults compete with each other.
It turns out to be an interesting story: it seems like a competition, but also like a show. Of course, I liked and amazed me Arseny Fedotov and Margarita Bazylyuk, they, of course, were smart, they shot,” said former choreographer of the Eteri Tutberidze group Alexey Zheleznyakov.
