IOC warned athletes against discrimination amid conflict in Gaza Strip.

“The International Olympic Committee (IOC) adheres to the principle of individual responsibility. Athletes cannot be held responsible for the actions of their governments.

If there are instances of discrimination by an athlete or other official, the IOC will work with the national Olympic committee and the relevant international federation to ensure swift action, as was the case during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics,” an IOC spokesperson said in comments to German news agency DPA.

Algerian judoka Fethi Nourin was disqualified for 10 years after the Tokyo Games. He withdrew from the competition to avoid a possible bout with Israeli rival Tohar Boutboul.
