ISU about the Valiyeva case: “We will conduct a full analysis of the decision and materials of RUSADA and, if necessary, exercise the right to appeal to CAS.
The International Skating Union (ISU) has received the decision and materials from the Russian anti-doping agency (RUSADA) in the Kamila Valieva case and will exercise its right to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), USA TODAY reports.
“ISU has received copies of RUSADA’s reasoning decision in both languages. ISU will conduct a full review of RUSADA’s decision and case file and exercise its right to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, as appropriate, given its commitment to all skaters and everyone involved in this case,” ISU said in its response.
Recall that at the Olympics 2022, the day on which the awards were to be held at the end of the team tournament, it became known about the positive doping sample Valieva tested on December 25, 2021. The medal presentation was postponed pending an investigation, and Kamila had to defend her right to compete in the individual tournament, where she eventually came in fourth place. Earlier, RUSADA had acquitted the skater, but it could be reviewed.
