“Protected persons have some rights that are not available to the rest of us, but I don’t think two years is the maximum sentence for them.
There are opportunities that, if you like, make life easier for protected persons, while adults in a similar situation have to explain the offense. These opportunities were exploited by Ms. Valieva’s team.
The story that was provided to the court was a dessert made by her grandfather. No one believed it. There was no evidence to support this theory.
As a result, Valieva’s attorneys failed the athlete by failing to prove the source of the substance. They did not provide anything that was credible.
