Alexandra Trusova has revealed that she wants children
Alexandra Trusova became the first guest from the world of sports in the show program “BeS Commentary” of Evgenia Medvedeva on YouTube. The figure skater candidly shared her experiences after her failure at the Beijing Olympics, especially how she experienced an emotional breakdown that received widespread attention from around the world. Trusova revealed that she wanted to seclude herself and cry in a private place under the stands, but was not allowed to. At that point, it felt like her whole life had been ruined.
“Only six months ago I realized that it was not the end of the world. At the time it felt like my whole life. I told everyone that I probably don’t need to explain to you. You’re probably the only person who understands me. When you devote your whole life to it since childhood, there is nothing more important for you,” the figure skater shared.
She also noted that when she returned home she heard support and consolation similar to what Medvedeva herself heard after Pyeongchang: people considered her a champion despite all the difficulties.
“Of course, they said it quite frankly. It’s not people’s fault, they think they are supportive … I only asked them not to make a medal for me like you. I told my mom right away, my mom passed it on…. After all, I do not need a medal,” – added Alexandra.
The figure skater also shared her worries about her first love. She confessed that until the age of 17 she did not experience feelings of falling in love, neither in kindergarten, nor at school. Her relationship with Mark Kondratyuk began at that age, although the specific details remained behind the scenes, perhaps because of their breakup.
“My new life was my first love. I notice that girls have that: they want to date, they’re looking for love. I never had that. I always had my own tasks, my own goals, and I wasn’t interested. When I realized that a girl could be looking for something more, it was new and unexpected for me. It was like I was recognizing myself anew. I was used to hearing: she can do it all, she can do it on her own. But sometimes you want someone to open the door for you, to do something for you,” she said.
The Olympic vice-champion also expressed her dream of a big family, while not putting conditions on whether her children will be involved in sports.
“I want children from a very young age. I have two brothers, both younger – one I’m ten years older than the other. When the younger one came along, I realized I was almost an adult now. Of course, I had sports. I never thought sports would always come first, and then family. Of course I want kids. I always thought I wanted three, like we have. But the main thing is that they should be healthy, beautiful and happy, the rest is already less important,” Trusova emphasized.
