U.S. journalist Brennan on team score recalculation: figure skaters Canada should get bronze at 2022 Olympics
According to USA Today journalist Christine Brennan, Valiyeva’s annulled result meant that her rivals should have received additional points. In this case, Canada would have finished the tournament with 55 points, while Russia would have finished with 54 (according to the ISU recalculation, the Russians scored 54 against 53 for the Canadians).
“Fun conversation. My math says Canada should win the bronze. We shall see…” – Brennan, who attended The Skating Lesson podcast, wrote on her Twitter account.
