The Japanese pair did not attend the awards ceremony at the 2024 World Figure Skating Championships.
Japanese pair Ryuichi Kihara and Riku Miura were unable to attend the awards ceremony and press conference after the free skating program at the World Figure Skating Championships 2024, due to health problems of their partner.
“Ryuichi and Riku are extremely proud of their performance. Ryuichi was coughing and started to feel dizzy due to low blood sugar. He couldn’t keep his balance. The doctors decided that the best option was to put him on a stretcher. They hooked him up to an IV, and now he feels better,” – quotes the words of the coach of the couple Bruno Marcotte press service ISU.
Recall, Kihara and Miura won silver medals at the world Championships, scoring 217.88 points.
