Nina Petrykina will miss the European Championship due to a broken leg
Estonian figure skater Nina Petrykina will miss the European Championships, scheduled for January 8-14 in Kaunas, Lithuania, because of a broken leg.
The athlete’s coach, Svetlana Varnavskaya, said:
“Nina has a fractured leg. We will not compete at the Estonian Championships, and we will not go to the European Championships. I can’t say more for now. Everything will depend on how Nina recovers.”
It is noted that Petrykina was injured before the Golden Spin tournament in Zagreb, Croatia. Natalie Langerbaur and Kristina Lisovskaia (Shkuleta-Gromova) may play for Estonia in the European Championships.
This season Petrykina finished third at the US Grand Prix and fourth at the Chinese Grand Prix.
