Isabeau Levito: I’m so happy, it’s a great end to a difficult season.
Isabeau Levito, silver medalist of the World Championships – 2024 in women’s single skating, summarized her performance at the tournament.
“I’m so happy, it’s a great end to a difficult season for me. I was so disappointed with the first half of the season because there was no way I was able to show what I was capable of. So I’m proud of myself and my coaches – we did a great job as a team. This medal is priceless to me.
I’m very happy that the American team has three quotas again for next season, although I tried not to think about it. Everything depended on complicated calculations, so I chose not to do that – I had to go out there and do my job on the ice cleanly.
I went out for the skating with big doubts – I know that I am physically well prepared, and I easily skate this program in training. But the six-minute warm-up was very nervous and it bothered me a lot. But I’m happy that I was able to deal with the nerves.
At the end of the program, I threw my arms up and laid down on the ice. I was shocked that I was able to do that. At this World Championships, I had two goals – to get on the podium and to secure a third quota for the Americans next season. I did both. It’s extremely satisfying, I worked really hard for this moment, I gave it my all and I was able to do it all!
This season was very difficult for me, I was often disappointed with my skating. I’m very proud of my team and all the hard work we did because it paid off, I won a medal at the World Championships! – Levito told Golden Skate
I’m not looking far into the future, I’m going step by step towards the Olympics, focusing on today. I’m getting more experienced, wiser and stronger, and by the Games I have to be the best version of myself, and I’m ready to work on that” – added the figure skater
