Isabeau Levito: “I’m glad I was able to roll much better than I did at Skate America.”
Isabeau Levito assessed her victory in the short program at the French Grand Prix.
“I’m glad that I managed to roll much better than at Skate America. Although the track of the steps made me nervous, but, fortunately, it did not affect the scores. Of course, there is still work to be done. My main goal is to keep improving. If I can win gold here, it will definitely mean that I am moving in the right direction.
The experience of doing the show in the summer really helped me. I skated alongside real figure skating legends and it completely changed my approach to my work. I saw a different side of our sport. If I skate better today, it’s because of that experience.
I can say that in this production we were inspired by the Chock and Bates program of the 2020/21 season. There Madison portrays a snake – and it’s just a legendary image already. We even use a piece of their music in my program. But, of course, I have my own production – I’m a singles player.
Madison even worked with me a little bit on the ice during the summer training camp. I was incredibly lucky to have her give some very valuable advice on my image and the artistic side of rolling,” said Isabeau Levito.
