Ilia Malinin will make his programs even harder.

Read Time:1 Minute, 1 Second

This was revealed by his manager Ari Zakarian.

American figure skater Malinin set a new world record in the free program and won the World Championships in Montreal. His total score for both programs was 333.76 (105.97 in the short program and 227.79 in the free skate). In the free program Malinin successfully performed six quadruple jumps, including the most difficult one – a quadruple axel. Previously, this record belonged to American Nathan Chen, which was 224.92 points.

“I am very surprised by his mental readiness for this championship – when he was the last to go out for the short program and everyone before him skated clean, he went to the rolling with a quadruple axel. And then a phenomenal, really cool free skating program – he got together and gave it away. In the second largest hall in the world, with that energy, with that buzz in the stands, which went up 20 seconds before the end of the performance,” said Zakarian.

“I think that in his head he is constantly striving forward, the desire to achieve even greater records, so I am sure that in the future we will see a program even more difficult,” added the manager.
