Ilia Malinin: “I haven’t decided whether I will do a quadruple axel in the short program at the World Championships.”
“I jumped the cascade four – four just for myself, to distract myself from training. There is no point in including such a difficult cascade in the program – this risk will not pay off in terms of grades.
I haven’t decided whether I will do a quadruple axel in the short. I’ll probably decide right on the day of the show. Everything will depend on how I will feel, whether I will have enough energy to go for maximum content.
I think it’s more important for me to perform reliably here, without risk. There are so many strong skaters coming to Montreal who get over 300 points in total – it’s going to be a good battle, I’m looking forward to competing against them. I love watching other skaters perform – I really enjoy figure skating,” said Malinin
