Daniil Gleichengauz commented on Russia’s deprivation of gold in the team competition.
Due to the disqualification of Kamila Valieva, Russian figure skaters were deprived of the gold of the team competition in Beijing-2022 and dropped to third place.
“About our whole team at the Olympics. Our national team at that moment had the three strongest female singles skaters on the planet, each of them could win first place in their discipline.
Thus, our team was hostage to the situation with the delayed sample. Who was to blame, whether it was done on purpose – I’m afraid we will never know.
But our guys deservedly won the gold medal in the team event, and I will always consider them champions of the Olympic Games in Beijing,” Gleichenhaus wrote.
