CAS on Valieva’s case: “The hearing is over. A decision is expected by the end of January 2024”

CAS called the deadline for the verdict on the doping case of Kamila Valieva.
“The CAS hearing on the arbitration proceedings involving RUSADA, ISU, WADA and Kamila Valieva has ended. A final decision is expected by the end of January 2024.
The parties have been informed that the CAS panel responsible for this matter will now consider and prepare the arbitral award and reasons, which are expected to be notified to the parties by the end of January 2024,” the press service of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said.
In December 2021, the Russian figure skater passed a positive doping test for trimetazidine, which became known in February during the Olympics-2022, where Valieva won the team event. Due to the start of the investigation, the award ceremony never took place.
On November 9-10, 2023, CAS resumed hearings in the case, which were postponed due to the preparation of additional documentation.
