Yuma Kagiyama commented on his victory at the Grand Prix stage in Japan.
Yuma Kagiyama expressed his impressions of his victory at the Grand Prix stage in Japan.
Kagiyama finished second in the free skating program due to a fall on the triple axel. However, he was ahead of Shoma Uno in the overall standings.
“I didn’t think about the result at all until I finished the performance. I just focused on what I had to accomplish on the ice today. Of course, falling on the axel was disappointing, but I was able to keep my composure and execute all the elements,” shared the Japanese skater.
Second place went to Shoma Uno, a three-time Olympic medalist.
“I think both my artistic expression and jumps were very successful. The competition just ended, so there were a lot of different emotions, but I’m happy with how I performed,” said Uno.
