Alexandra Trusova, the silver medalist of the 2022 Olympic Games in women’s singles skating, withdrew from the finals of the Russian Grand Prix of Figure Skating.

Trusova participated in two rounds of the Russian Grand Prix, taking third and second place, which corresponds to the fifth place in the ranking of selected skaters for the finals of the competition. Alexandra hasn’t competed in any other competitions this season. The athlete withdrew from the Russian Championship, which was held in late December, because of her illness, and therefore she was not included in the number of participants of the First Channel Cup.

It also became known that in the final of the Russian Grand Prix Trusova will be replaced by Anna Frolova, who was the first reserve.

“Anna Frolova will perform at the tournament as a substitute,” RIA Novosti Sport quotes the skater’s coach, Sergei Davydov.

The finals of the Russian Grand Prix of Figure Skating will be held March 4-5 in St. Petersburg.
